The Top 4 Myths in Daytona Home Construction

It’s too expensive.

Cost is typically one of the biggest deterrents in deciding whether or not to build a home. People often think that building will be drastically more expensive than buying… but this isn’t always the case. While the average cost of a new home is typically higher up front (according to a National Association of Home Builders report in February of this year, the difference was about $71,000 on average), this higher cost is misleading. When you build your home, you pay for features that save you more money down the line—green systems, energy efficient appliances, insulation, “smart” home additions, and more. These additions can save you time and money during your time in the home and, should you decide to sell later on, can help you recoup much of what you initially paid. This can mean your custom construction can end up costing you as much as (if not less than) a purchase over the course of even just a few years.

I won’t have a say.

Are you worried about your custom build not being as “custom” as you’d like? You may have had a less-than-perfect experience in the past, but today’s custom build places emphasis on your say in the process… however big (or little) you prefer that to be!
