With the Daytona 500 quickly approaching and effectively starting off this year’s season of NASCAR racing, all eyes are on Daytona and its famous International Speedway… but as Daytona residents, we know our world-famous racing culture is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to family fun and recreation. Here are some of our favorite perks of living in the area:
World-famous beach living: Not many people get to say they live within a stone’s throw from the nearest beach… but in Daytona, we get pretty close! Being able to take the family out for a day at the beach virtually any time is a big perk when it comes to living in Daytona Beach and the surrounding areas. There’s a plot of sand and ocean for every type, whether you like the hustle and bustle of resort territory or prefer a quieter experience.
Shopping and entertainment: As families grow, the city grows with them. There are stretches of beachside shopping and entertainment centers for families of all ages to stroll through and enjoy—just drive on over toward the beach and see for yourself! The Daytona Beach Bandshell is a staple of local entertainment and outdoor fun too.
Culture and museums: The Daytona Maritime Museum, Museum of Florida Art and Ponce de Leon Inlet Lighthouse are just a few of the culture and learning opportunities available to Daytona residents and nearby neighbors.
Outdoor fun: Florida’s a pretty flat state—but that only adds to the wealth of outdoor activities we have available here! Cities like Daytona Beach are apt for biking, golfing, and hiking through often-hidden natural gems. It’s a great place to foster a love for the outdoors in kids of all ages.
