Daytona Beach: Thanksgiving Day Fun for the Family

Happy Thanksgiving from us at Kargar Homes! We know the holiday’s a big part of fall-time fun, family togetherness and the start of the holiday season. Here are a few of our favorite ways to celebrate (and how you can, too):

Kick off the day with the Macy’s ParadeIt’s on every year, but there’s nothing wrong with a time-honored tradition! Enjoy the 88th annual event on NBC, and enjoy a breakfast with the family.

Football with the family. If you have football fanatics in your household, you’ll have to catch one of the games airing Thanksgiving Day—watch it with your dinner or as a precursor to the big feast. For a more hands-on activity (and to work up an appetite), try a game of touch football.

Arts and crafts. Young kids want to get in on the Thanksgiving fun, too! Help them make their own Thanksgiving arts and crafts and share what you’re all thankful for. Check out for a variety of ideas you can try.

Enjoy the great outdoors. In Central Florida, there’s nothing much nicer than a brisk, enjoyable Thanksgiving Day outdoors. Get out and enjoy the great weather—take a walk by the beach or play some Frisbee in the park. If you’re staying local, you can also check out the Daytona Turkey Run! The 41st annual event, held at the Daytona International Speedway, includes a swap meet, salute to armed forces, kids’ play area and more. Visit for information on how to register for this year’s event.

Give back. Help share in the holiday spirit by giving back to your community. Volunteer your time at a food bank, soup kitchen or other area charity—get your kids and involved, too, and help show them the meaning of the season.
