Building a Community

Do you have memories of running around your neighborhood, going door to door asking if your friends could come out and play? You’d make up games as you went and stay out until the streetlights went on, and start all over the next day.

We remember these days fondly, and want our kids to as well!

Many say this age of technology is hurting our connections with our friends and family, that our reliance on our smartphones is taking the place of real interaction. Sometimes, that can seem like reality—but it doesn’t have to be!

When you have a great neighborhood, full of people who really care about their homes and community and want to foster a sense of togetherness, it’s not hard to achieve that nostalgic childhood vision. Holiday block parties, barbecues, carpools and more are all commonplace when you’re surrounded by neighbors who share your ideals—in this case, a great neighborhood.

That was our vision in designing our Plantation Bay and LPGA International communities. We utilize green space, natural lakes and common areas to foster family time. Instead of trying to pack as many homes as possible in one area, we think about the space itself and how it will help bring people together, how it will make you feel safe and at ease in one of Florida’s most treasured spots.
